Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
Forget Not All His Benefits
Psalms 103:1 ~ 103:6

2002-02-24

Children repeatedly forget. Parents and other adults ask, "Why do you keep forgetting?" Some people just simply forget. But we should never forget God's benefits. He wants us to enjoy His blessings (Psalm 103:1-6; 3 John 1:2).

Even as your soul is getting along well . . . what does this mean? God created a good and perfect Garden of Eden. But the sin of Adam and Eve affected all mankind; our spirits died. But God's great love and grace made us alive with Christ and saved us (Ephesians 2:4,5; Romans 3:23-24; Isaiah 53:6). For our souls to get along well and for our spirits to stay alive, we must continually be filled with the Holy Spirit and have ongoing communication with God. If we stop our communication with Him, it is impossible for our souls to get along well. We must daily live lives of holiness (2 Timothy 2:21) and obedience (Romans 1:17; James 2:26). Our attitudes should be surrendered to God's will. People will know we are Christians by our love for one another (John 13:35). Even during trials, our souls can get along well if we let God teach us and strengthen our faith (Psalm 119:71; James 1:3-4; 1 Peter 4:16).

It is God's desire that all may go well with us. He wants to give good things to His children (Matthew 7:9-11). If we obey God, He will bless our children (Psalm 103:17; 112:1-3). Two famous men were born the same year. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria; he did not have Christian parents. Christian parents influenced the man born in America; he became President Dwight Eisenhower. Things will go well with us when we are peacemakers (Matthew 5:9; Romans 15:2). God wants to bless our business (Deuteronomy 28:2-6; Psalm 128:1-2). If we pay attention to His commands and obey them, then He will make things go well for us (Deuteronomy 28:12-13). But we must remember His conditions (Matthew 6:33), including the law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7; Proverbs 3:9-10). If we don't sow, we won't reap. Yet a sister having financial difficulties asked me, "Do I have to tithe?" God truly wants to give to us in abundance so we can share with others (Deuteronomy 15:10).

I pray that you may enjoy good health. Good health is the foundation for our lives. But our part is to obey the laws for good health. Yes, God has provided healing for us (Isaiah 53:5,10). But we must obey His laws, work only six days, and rest on the seventh day. We also need to have a healthy diet and exercise, a healthy mind filled with love, joy, and peace (Psalm 16:11), and a cheerful heart that is good medicine (Proverbs 17:22). Let us thank Him continually for His guiding laws and His benefits.

Heavenly Father, through the cross of Jesus Christ, You desire that all will go well with us. Help us not to forget the benefits You have already provided for us.
