Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
Where There Is the Will of God, There Is a Way
Matthew 6:9 ~ 6:10

2005-03-06

Introduction : Someone asked me, "Pastor, does God have any way to solve a problem that humankind cannot solve?" I replied, "Brother, brother, is there anyone around you who has the same face?" Each person in a population of six billion people has a different face, and so did those who lived in the past, and so will those who will be born in the future. Think about the solutions and methods of God who makes numerous faces that are the width of two palms of the hands. Humankind has just a few ways to solve a problem, but God has infinite solutions. If God wills, there are many ways to solve problems. In order for God´s will to be accomplished, any miracle can be performed. Therefore, only when we know God´s will can we pray, ask, trust, and challenge impossibilities strongly and boldly.

1. The strong and courageous faith of Moses.
    - Moses clearly knew that it was God´s will for the Israelites who left Egypt to enter the
land of Canaan. He knew that where there was God´s will, surely there was a way.
       (Ex 3:10, 17)
    1) He never doubted God´s way, even when the Israelites were at a dead-end at the
Red Sea. - His courageous confession of faith (Ex 14:13-14).
    2) At the bitter water of Marah
        - certainly there was a way for God´s will to be done. (Ex 15:25)
    3) In the desert - there was a way no matter what kind of trouble or obstacle.
        (Dt 1:29-31)

2. Let us know the will of God.
    1) The Bible contains God´s will for humankind. (Ro 2:18, 10:17, Rev 1:3)
    2) Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
        (1) Through dreams or visions.
            - Mary and Joseph´s vision and dream of having baby Jesus, the Magi´s dream,
and Saul´s vision on his way to Damascus.
        (2) Meditation and understanding. (Pr 4:20, Mt 11:27, 13:19, Lk 24:45)
        (3) The desire of the heart (Php 2:13, Ps 107:30, 10:17)
    3) Through the environment.
        - Peter had a vision at his house in Joppa, and Cornelius, a centurion, sent his
servants to bring back Peter. (Ac 10:19-20)

3. Walk by faith.
    1) Ten spies knew God´s will but didn´t trust in Him (Heb 3:18-19).
    2) God´s will and the two disciples of Jesus, Philip and Andrew.
        (1) Do not try to interpret God´s will in a human way - Philip.
            (Jn 6:5-7, Nu 11:22-23, Mt 13:58, Lk 8:25)
        (2) Walk by faith believing that where there is God´s will, there is a way - Andrew.
            (Jn 6:8-9, Mk 9:23, Jn 15:7, 1 Sa 17:45, Ac 3:6, 1 Ti 2:4, Mt 8:3, Jn 7:38, 2 Co 9:8,
             Jn 14:3, Heb 10:35-38, Ro 8:31-32)

Conclusion : God clearly told His will to Joshua, the successor to Moses (Jos 1:1-4). He said that where there was His will, certainly there was a way, but there would be trials and troubles. However, since His will would surely be accomplished, He said, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged" (Jos 1:9).
