Pastor Cho's Sermon Outline - Yoido Full Gospel Church - Seoul, Korea
Your Will Be Done on Earth as It Is in Heaven
Matthew 6:10

2002-11-10

God is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Therefore, the beginning and the end of our lives have already been planned in heaven (Psalm 139:16). God has also planned the human history of the world from beginning to the end. The will of God has already been done in heaven. The problem is that mankind delays and prevents the will of God from being done on earth, just as Adam and Eve's rebellion and disobedience interfered with God's plan in the Garden of Eden. Jesus told us to pray, "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." How can God's will be done on earth in our lives, homes, businesses, society, and in our nation?

We should know and accept God's will and plan. In order to understand the plan and will of God, we have to meditate on the Word of God and be taught by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:9,10). We have to know and accept God's plan of forgiveness, justification, and glorification (1 John 1:7), and His plan to give us the fullness of the Holy Spirit and godliness (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 Peter 1:2). We have to know and accept God's plan to heal our sicknesses and give us health and life (Matthew 8:16,17), to set us free from the curse and poverty (2 Corinthians 8:9), and to know that God has planned to give us resurrection, heaven and eternal life (John 14:1-3). His plans for us are so good! That's why it is so important to know what they are (Matthew 7:11).

We should dream about and believe God's will and plan. The devil always engages us in spiritual warfare, challenging our faith through our senses, our reasoning, and our experiences. We must respond to these challenges with strong faith (1 Timothy 1:19; 1 Peter 5:8). Jonah's faith was greatly challenged through his senses, reasoning, and experience in the stomach of the big fish (Jonah 2:1-9). But Jonah boldly kept his faith in God. Although it looked like there was no way he could survive, he knew that he could triumph with the help of the Lord. In His distress, Jonah dreamed of escape and called to the Lord, and God delivered him from the stomach of the fish!

We should declare our faith boldly. It is the confession of our faith that links the invisible realm with the visible. In God's creation of heaven and earth, the invisible plan and will of God are accomplished in the material world through an intermediator, the Word (Hebrews 11:3). God gave Abraham a vision; by faith, Abraham confessed it, and it was fulfilled (Romans 4:17-21). The invisible kingdom of God is done on the visible earth by proclaiming the Word (Hebrews 1:1-3). The grace of Jesus' redemption becomes a reality through the strong confession of our mouths (Romans 10:9,10). God's will is planned and done in heaven; He's waiting for us to do His will on earth.

Heavenly Father, Your will is already done in heaven. Help us to confess our strong faith in You, and do Your will on earth.
